By focusing on used cars with a high ETR during purchasing, maarZeker is seeing the marketability of its stock increase. Daniël: “We see in practice that it works. We don’t sell cars with a low ETR quickly, no matter how good they look. That’s why we use JP.cars to focus on purchasing cars with an ETR of 4 or 5. As a result, our data shows that the ETR of our stock is on average 25% higher than the market.”
And the turnover rate increases accordingly. Daniël: “A year ago, we had a turnover rate of 6, which we have seen rise to 8 while our pricing remains competitive with the market. With the same number of cars in stock, that represents significant growth.”
Although marketable stock contributes significantly to the increased turnover rate, experience continues to play an important role. Daniël: “The whole picture has to be right. You can buy a used car with an ETR of 5, but if the advertisement isn’t good or if you don’t follow up on leads properly, it will still sit on the lot. For example, our average days in stock for used cars with an ETR of 5 is 28 days, while the market average for the same ETR is 52 days. But it starts with smart purchasing. JP.cars helps us with that.”
Since maarZeker started using the recommendations feature, the purchasing process has accelerated significantly. Daniël: “We were already using the software for all appraisals, but when we participate in an auction, it takes a lot of time to appraise all used cars individually with JP.cars. With this feature, we can do it in bulk: we upload a list and immediately see which cars are interesting for us and at what price based on the ETR. This saves a lot of time, especially with imported cars. We can now process larger volumes in the same amount of time.”
