Dex is a car company with 16 branches, mainly located in the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. As Dex expanded, pricing vehicles consistently across multiple locations became more complex. “Previously, we visited various portals to help us set prices. But it was difficult to draw conclusions and justify the asking price of a specific car,” explains Wim Bruggeman, COO at Dex. “JP.cars now gives us the data to substantiate our decisions.” Pricing decisions are now grounded in objective market information, while still allowing room for discussion and experience.
Dex chose JP.cars because of the broader market perspective it provides. Beyond current listings, the platform shows which cars are popular, which are less in demand and where supply is building up. This helps Dex assess the attractiveness of vehicles more accurately and determine pricing that aligns with real market demand rather than visible offers alone.
JP.cars is used both for purchasing and for managing existing stock. This enables Dex to respond faster to market developments. Where prices were previously adjusted after longer evaluation periods, Dex now receives daily reports highlighting vehicles with higher stock days or prices that deviate from internal protocols. This includes signals from competitor pricing and changes in demand, allowing earlier intervention.
While JP.cars provides a strong data driven foundation, Dex continues to rely on the experience of its purchasing teams. “The software gives us a good starting point for pricing, but we always supplement that with our own expertise,” says Bruggeman. “Our purchasers assess whether colour, options and other details align with the data.”
Even in the early phase of using JP.cars, Dex has already seen the average age of its stock decrease, with fewer vehicles accumulating excessive stock days. The company also values the accessibility of the JP.cars team and sees opportunities to expand the use of the software further.
